Massage Therapy

Massage Therapist

Meet our new massage therapist Belenn! With over 5 years of experience in Swedish and deep tissue massage, Belenn will work on your problem areas to help you achieve your long term wellness goals. Chiropractic has been shown to work optimally in conjunction with massage therapy. This makes sense. If muscles are tight and strained, chiropractic alignments are going to be more difficult. And after having an adjustment, tight tissues are going to try and return the body to it's rigid ways.

The relaxing "ahhhh!" that you get when you have a massage from a massage therapist. Some patient's like to get massage therapy prior to being adjusted. Others like the feeling of massage afterwards. Still others get massage with no adjustments. All of these are valid options.

If you aren't getting massage therapy done with your chiropractic care, you don't know what you are missing. Chiropractic is a wonderful type of care, and feels good, but massage therapy takes our chiropractic adjustments to a whole new level. If you've had it done in our office, you know what we're talking about.

The most common reasons for getting a massage are:
  • General Relaxation
  • Revitalization
  • Relieve Sore or Tight Muscles
  • Relieve Tension Headaches
  • Recover from Sports Activities
  • General Health and Fitness
  • Improve Circulation
  • Complement Other Health Care

Together, chiropractic and massage provide you with a more complete and effective system of health care.

Dr. Holden Asks some important questions of interest to Austin residents - Chiropractor Austin Dr. Holden Asks...

Are chiropractors just concerned with the spine?
Our interest in the spine is because it covers the major communications conduit between your brain and your body. As a Austin chiropractor my job is to locate areas (usually along the spine) that interfere with proper nerve communications to and from your brain. Chiropractic adjustments help restore nervous system integrity. In this way, chiropractic care can affect the function of your entire body.
Which organs are extra?
You don't have any spare parts. Sure, we can survive without our tonsils, appendix, gall bladder and several other tissues, but each serves a purpose. We chiropractors recognize this. So the chiropractic approach I use in Austin is to reduce nerve interferences to the control and regulation of every tissue, organ and system of your body.
