Introducing Austin Chiropractor Dr. Brad Holden
“I didn't experience a miracle, but I've seen them” continues Dr. Holden. “I can remember seeing my mom wither away after a car accident that she had when I was 10 years old. The care that she received for the next two years consisted of pain pills and physical therapy. Despite medicines best effort she was getting worse and more depressed as time passed. It was when I was twelve years old that she finally found the help that she so desired in chiropractic. Dr. Russell identified the subluxation (mis-aligned vertebra) that was causing her pain. She began care to correct this misalignment and within 3 months she was remarkably better and continues to do great to this day! At the same time my sister was also experiencing health challenges with asthma. Dr Russell explained that not only were our nerves responsible for pain but they also control every cell, tissue and organ in our body. My sister began care, and in short, her asthma was a thing of the past. I found it fascinating that the nerves in our body control everything and if we have a mis-alignment in our spine it can irritate the delicate nerves which can cause a variety of problems. It was at that time, at twelve years old, that I decided to be a chiropractor.”
Dr. Holden was so driven that he began his pre-chiropractic studies at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan, one week after high school graduation. There he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic anatomy and physiology courses. After completing his studies in Michigan it was time to head off to the prestigious Life University in Marietta Georgia. “I have two highlights about my college experience. The first was becoming the president of the Senior Intern program, “shares Dr. Holden. The Senior Intern program is a group of honor students, who upon passing a three day arduous examination were able to supervise fellow students in the outpatient clinic. “It was during one of my rounds in the clinic that lead to my second college highlight, I met my beautiful wife Nikki,” smiles Dr. Holden.
